The findings indicated that Cordyceps lowered levels of serum lactic acid, urea nitrogen, creatine kinase, aspartate aminotransferase, alanine aminotransferase, and malondialdehyde [3]. At the same time, it boosted liver and muscle glycogen storage and increased levels of several essential antioxidants. These combined results suggest that Cordyceps may have a significant effect in reducing fatigue [3].

The results showed that after three months of mushroom supplementation, both groups exhibited improved ratios and increased scavenging activity of free radicals [4]. Overall, the research suggests that a three-month supplementation regimen with Cordyceps and Reishi could offer protective benefits against non-functional overreaching or overtraining in endurance athletes [4].
